Composer Notes

The opening melody of this short musical piece came to my fingertips when I was conducting a piano music lesson with a child with developmental challenges. The rhythm and melody mimic the usual encounters during this series of lessons. Those arrays of arpeggios in the right-hand part require quick flow of finger movement to create the dramatic yet elegant feeling of the opening melody (Bar 1-5). The left-hand part is composed to accompany those opening flows as added rhythmic beats, which should be played with softer yet precise beats. The "puzzled conversation" and "into a conversation" parts represent changes of the main storyline of this musical piece, which mimics the conversation we had through musical notes on the piano during our sessions.
